London Docklands

The Docklands area of London including the Isle of Dogs is located to the east of the City of London. In the last 20 years the area has become one of the most desirable places to live, giving residents the unique opportunity of being able to walk or have a very short commute to their place of work.


Canary Wharf, part of the Docklands area is now the largest office complex in Europe. It is home to many large organisations such as HSBC, Barclays, BP, Bank of America and Reuters.


The area has been designed with emphasis on creating a pleasant working and living environment. Careful attention has been given to the provision of public open spaces, including parks, squares and promenades. Many of the areas recreational facilities are based around the River Thames.

Residents and visitors can enjoy going to bars and restaurants on the promenades and within the retail areas. There is a range of amenities including health and sports clubs, childcare, theatres and cinemas. The area is principally made up of new stylish apartments making it perfect for young professionals.

Transport links

A fast efficient service to Docklands is provided by the Jubilee Line, with journey times of 15 minutes to Green Park in the west and 10 minutes to Stratford in the east.

  • Canary Wharf is 10 minutes away from Bank station via Docklands Light Railway and 15 minutes from Stratford, Lewisham and the newly opened London City Airport station.
  • The Docklands Highway links Canary Wharf directly with the City to the west and with the A13 and M25 to the east.
  • London City Airport, 10 minutes from Isle of Dogs by taxi or 14 minutes by DLR, operates to 25 European and domestic destinations.
  • High speed Channel Tunnel commuter rail services will stop at Stratford in 2007.
  • Commuter river services link Docklands with Central London in less than 30 minutes.
